It’s All About The Adhesive

There are lots of tapes that can be used for marking routes on climbing walls.

We’ve seen duct tape, vinyl tape, paper tape and electrical tape used for that purpose. All of them are wrong!

Duct tape leaves a sticky residue and has no “grippability”.

Paper tape is not very durable and does not like to conform to non-flat surfaces.

Vinyl tapes tend to curl when exposed to sweat.

Real route setting tape is cloth and it has a very high quality synthetic rubber adhesive that sticks well, resists moisture and removes cleanly when it is time to change the route.

Insist on cloth route setting tape with synthetic adhesive for your wall.
